Coast Pageants

Welcome to Coast Pageants, Home of the Miss Gulf Coast and Miss Coastal Waters preliminary pageants to Miss Mississippi!

Our 2009 Preliminaries will be held January 3rd at the D'Iberville Civic Center on Auto Mall Parkway at 6:30pm. 

Private Interviews will be held beginning at 10:00am at the D'Iberville City Complex.  All Contestants should report at 9:00 am to the D'Iberville Civic Center for Contestant Orientation.  Interview times will be assigned then.  Contestants who have not sent their paperwork in by fax or email prior to the pageant should arrive with five copies of the paperwork and five headshot prints (black and white, plain paper is fine) for the judges.  Please also have two copies of your talent music available on CDs.  Talent and production rehearsals will take place immediately following your interview.  The pageant will begin at 6:30.

The Wingate Hotel in D'Iberville (228-396-0036) is offering a special rate of $69 per night if you mention the Miss Gulf Coast Pageant.  It is located immediately north of I-10 on the right.  It is approximately 2 miles from the pageant venue.

DIRECTIONS:

From I-10 east, take the Biloxi/Keesler Airforce Base exit and head south.  Exit at exit 2, D'Iberville.  Turn right.  Follow Auto Mall Parkway for 1/2mile (past the big turn) to the flashing red light.  The City Complex is on the left corner of this intersection.  The Civic Center behind the complex, you may turn in here and take a right in front of the post office or take the next left by the Library.  The Civic Center is directly behind the Library.

The Miss Gulf Coast and Teen Gulf Coast Pageants are open to residents of Pearl River, Hancock, Harrison, Stone, Jackson, Greene and George Counties who meet eligibility requirements.

*Miss Coastal Waters and Teen Coastal Waters are open preliminaries.  Any contestant who meets eligibility requirements for Miss Mississippi or Miss Mississippi's Outstanding Teen may enter.

Miss America Eligibility Rules

Never Before Competed in the finals of Miss America.

Miss Contestants must be between the ages of 17-24 years of age. A High School senior and no older than twenty-four (24) years of age on December 31, 2009

Teen Contestants must be between the ages of 13-17.  17 year old High School Seniors compete in the Miss Division. 

Residence: Must reside in; be enrolled in and attending classes on a full-time basis at an accredited college or university in; or be employed on a full-time basis for six months in the state in which the young woman plans to compete.

Citizenship:  Must be a citizen of the United States of America at the time she enters her first pageant.

Education:  Must be a high school graduate or have successfully completed the G.E.D. testing program for high school equivalency or have successfully completed the academic requirements for entry into a four-year college/university degree program by July 30th immediately preceding the Na-tional Finals.

Additional Requirements:

Must have never been married.

Must have never been pregnant.

Must not be the adoptive parent of any child.

Must never have been convicted of any criminal offense.

Must not have criminal charges presently pending.

Must be in good health and can participate fully and without limita-tion in any Program activities.

Must not use or consume any illegal controlled dangerous substances or abuse the use of alcohol or other dangerous substances.

Relatives Competing

A relative of a Local Pageant director or any local pageant volunteer is not eligible to enter the local pageant for which her relative serves as a director or volunteer. However, she is eligible to compete in another local competition in the same state. (State Board makes final determination).
